Subject:NARAYANA THEERTHA KRISHNA LEELA THARANGINI

Varagur is a small village situated on the Bank of Kudamuriti River, a tributory of River Carvery in Tamil Nadu. In this village His Holiness Saint Narayana Theertha Swamiji composed Krishna Leela Tharangini. While singing Tharangam he used to hear instrumental sounds from the Garb Gruham. After completing his composition of Tharangam he received Viswaroopa Darshan of Lord Krsihna. His Holiness Saint Narayana Thirtha Swamigal born at Kaza Village of Andhra Pradesh (Near Vijayawada) but as per Saraswathi Mahal Library of Thanjavur he was born at Vellathur Village (Bhattibrulu Mandal) in Krishna District. He was suffering from severe stomach pain and while he was on pilgrimage tour he stayed at Tirupathi and got the stomach pain and he was asked by Lord Krishna to go to Varagur village and compose Tharangini. After that he will be relieved from stomach pain. He faced lot of inconvenience and ultimately when he entered Varagur Venkatesa Perumal temple of Varagur his stomach pain also vanished. To started Uriyadi Festival during his life period in this village and even today this festival is being celebrated for 10 days. The idol of Venkatesa Perumal was brought to this place from Thirupathi during Babur period and after lot of difficulties it was installed here. Even today at Tirupathi we can see Varaga Swamy temple which will be identical to this village idol.

I request this web developer to upload the photograph of Venkatesa Perumal of Varagur in this site for the benefit of devotees. I am happy to provide further information if the web developer desire. We the village people developed a website www.varagur.net for the benefit of devottes where anyone can get information about this village.
